Take a chance on this: Saturday night the Black Cat Nightclub in Washington DC hosts The ABBA Party, during which the club will be transformed into what we can only imagine a Swedish disco, circa 1978, might be like. The highlight of the evening will be “Almost ABBA,†a full, lip-synched concert of ABBA music. This is being billed as the ‘farewell tour,†so this could be your last chance.
The Spare Room Gallery presents Translucency, a site-specific installation by artist Jennifer Blazina. Blazina creates intimate photographic shrines using steel, glass, resin, ink and satin along with self-portraits and found family snapshots. The gallery is open on Saturday night from 7-10pm, and The Spare Room is located at 3720 Greenmount Avenue in Waverly.
And finally, if you love your pets as much as Aaron loves his cats, you won’t want to miss The World of Pets Expo, where you’ll find thousands of products and services you didn’t know you needed for your pet, as well as a petting zoo, and, the World of Cats “Just Cattin’ Around†show. Well-behaved, leashed pets are welcome of course. The show runs 10 am to 7 pm Saturday and 10 am to 5 pm Sunday at the Maryland State Fair Grounds in Timonium.
