Friday night (10.03.08), performance artists Bonnie Jones & Jackie Milad present the 2nd Installment of the Los Solos Performance Series at Carriage House. Local filmmaker and musician Kristin Anchor will screen a short program of humorous and political film and video. And writer/lawyer Vanessa Place will read selected excerpts from her conceptual novels. The evening begins at 8:30 and Carriage House is located at 2225 Hargrove Alley in Lower Charles Village. Saturday (10.04.08), the Downtown Baltimore Family Alliance hosts a fall children’s festival at the Inner Harbor. Bringing the Farm to the City will include hayrides, square dancing, a petting zoo and a pie-eating contest. This family event is open to all and takes place tomorrow between 10am & 2pm at Inner Harbor’s West Shore Park between the Visitor’s Center on Light Street and the Maryland Science Center.

You might remember hearing the vocal styling of human beat-box Shodekeh here on the Signal… Now is your chance to check him out live at a special performance with percussionists Barry Dove of the Baltimore Chamber Orchestra and Brian Prechtl of The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. It’s happening Wednesday evening, October 8th, at 8 p.m at the University of Baltimore’s new Student Center of Performing Arts Theater on the school’s 5th Floor. Creative Alliance’s 3rd annual Viva el Cine Latino brings a night of local videos made by and about Baltimore Hispanics to the Patterson Theater.
