03.07.08 events calendar…

Friday (03.07.08) the Creative Alliance’s Patterson Theater screens experimental films and videos by four artists and professors at UMBC. John Sturgeon, Vin Grabill, Fred Worden and Cathy Cook showcase their talents and of filmmaking techniques. We’ve also been told that the evening’s finale is going to feature a special performance by Sprockets the dog, a close associate and protégé of filmmaker Cathy Cook. Saturday evening (03.08.08) Baltimore jazz venue An Die Musik presents Tony Pancella and Larry Willis with a double piano performance promoting their latest recording, “Altered Ego.” During his 40-year career, Willis has played with jazz titans like Dizzy Gillespie, Art Blakely and Woody Shaw. In honor of Women’s History Month, the Community College of Baltimore County welcomes poet and musician Jessica Care Moore to campus for a special keynote address. More’s speech begins at 12:20 pm, Wednesday, March 12th at CCBC Essex. This presentation is free and open to the public, and you can find out more at www.ccbcmd.edu.
