  • We pay a visit to the Hampton National Historic Site, where historian Vincent Vaise tours us through the lavishly decorated, centuries-old mansion of Maryland’s prominent Ridgely family. We’ll also tour the bleak cabins of enslaved Africans whose labor built the family’s empire.
  • We meet Michael Ball, Lauren Bender and Justin Sirois, three local poets who are part of the i.e. reading series, a monthly poetry event that brings writers from all over the country to Baltimore to share their work.
  • We visit with two classically-trained musicians: Brian Sacawa and Erik Spangler. Their collaboration, The Hybrid Groove Project, manages to turn the work of American composer Phillip Glass into bona fide dance music.
  • Also, short fiction from Signal contributor J Robert Lennon and poetry from Signal contributor Chris Toll.
