  • A profile of the Baltimore-based punk visionary Daniel Higgs, who shares his thoughts on music at large and the 18-year history of his band, Lungfish, a group that’s shunned the mainstream music industry — and amassed a devoted following that spans the globe
  • A conversation with Baltimore Mandolin Orchestra members Jim Blanchard and David Evans about the rich history of the mandolin in America, and what it’s like to play in Charm City’s other orchestra
  • A walk through Baltimore’s Locust Point neighborhood with writer Joseph Michael Kelly — his great-grandfather stepped off the boat there from Ireland at the turn of the 20th century, and his family’s lived there ever since

  • A profile of musicians Dave Heumann, Walker Teret, and Rob Wilson, members of the band Television Hill. They played live in our studios and talked about the origins of their songs, songs that tell the stories of misunderstood outlaws like John Wesley Hardin.
  • We’ll visit a Fells Point pub called The Wharf Rat. That’s where The Ship’s Company Chanteymen host a monthly gathering for maritime history buffs and folk singers to tip back a few ales and sing their favorite 19th century sea chanteys.
  • And we’ll hear a story that gives us a little taste of what life was like aboard a mid-19th century sloop of war when we head down to Baltimore’s Inner Harbor and step aboard the USS Constellation
