There are a couple of nice opportunities this weekend to hear some good music and support some good causes while you’re at it: Tomorrow night (05.05.07) at Saint John’s Church on the corner of 27th Street and St. Paul, it’s Hard Hittin’ Songs for Hard Hit People. This benefit concert for the Heart’s Place Homeless Shelter is going to feature Television Hill, Caleb Stine and the Brakemen, Deer Tick, Noble Lake, and June Star, and the doors open at 7 p.m.
Also tomorrow night (05.05.07), Ascension Lutheran Towson hosts an evening of music, spoken word, and photography to celebrate its fifteen-year relationship with Faith Hope Church in Nicaragua. Among the night’s performers – Cecile Audette and the Apollos… the show gets underway at 7 o’clock p.m. at the Ascension Nave, 7601 York Road, and proceeds are going to support schools and clinics in Nicaragua.
And from now through May 9th, Northeast Baltimore’s Hamilton neighborhood hosts The Hamilton Art Crawl, with open galleries, public theatre, films, and live music from bands like The Art of Meaning, The Tritons, and the Bobwhites… more information is at www.hamiltonarts.org.
