Remember that nasty snowstorm back in mid-January that cancelled, well, just about everything for a few days? One of those snowed-out events was Mo’ Poe 2 … Nevermo’ — a performing arts salute to one of Baltimore’s creepiest sons, Edgar Allen Poe. The all-star event, a benefit for the Theatre Project, has been patiently held off and finally rescheduled for tomorrow, April 16th, from 6:30 to 10 p.m. The evening’s bill includes contemporary dance company The Collective, composer / poet duo Damon Ferrante and Daniel Mark Epstien, spoken word artist and Signal contributor Native Son of the 5thL, and actor David Keltz as Edgar himself. All that, plus cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, silent auctions, raffles, and the satisfaction of knowing that you’re supporting one of Baltimore’s most adventurous theatres… more information is at 410 752-8558 and on the web at www.theatreproject.org.

Another theatre troupe has been making a name for itself here in Baltimore recently: The Baltimore Improv Group carries on the grand tradition of unscripted sketch comedy based on suggestions from the audience. The “Second City” of Charm City takes the stage tomorrow night at 7:30 in Federal Hill’s Christ Lutheran Church. That’s at 701 South Charles Street, and you can find out more on the web at www.bigimprov.org.

And this Sunday afternoon, The Enoch Pratt Free Library’s Wheeler Auditorium plays host to a festival of experimental short films by some of the genre’s groundbreaking pioneers. Works by D.A Pennebaker, Norman McLaren, and Stan Brackage are all part of the library’s in-house collection of more than 2500 films, and they’ll hit the screen at 2 o’clock Sunday afternoon, as part of a presentation called Short & Sweet: Experimental Ear and Eye Candy. The library is at 400 Cathedral Street in downtown Baltimore, and more information is at 410-396-5430.
